 Job Description

Job Purpose


To implement the institution’s operations model through providing direction and oversight to the institution’s operations function relating to central operations, payments and branch operations, as well as, treasury back office operations. The role will in addition oversee implementation of service level agreement relating to supply chain management and facilities management.


The Role


The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties amongst others:



  • Developing departmental strategy and ensuring alignment to the organisational business model and strategy.

  •  Developing and driving efficient and effective operations processes while guiding the business unit’s strategies to support the enhancement of operational processes, automation and cost optimisation.

  •  Undertaking the analysis of management and specialist information across the institution and developing high level reports for strategic decision making purposes.

  •  Ensuring implementation and adoption of models, frameworks, people practices and process designs to embed customer focus in the organisation’s activities.

  •  Proactively identifying interconnected problems, develop and model alternative solutions and contingency plans to resolve value chain conflict.

  •  Driving cost savings through development of effective and efficient procurement strategies, as well as, managing procurement related risks.

  •   Ensuring effective people management.


The Person


The right candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:



  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Commerce, Management Studies, or related field.

  •  Possess a minimum of 8 to 10 years’ experience in a similar environment, with a minimum of three years at senior professional or management level in a banking environment.

  •  Thorough understanding of banking operations and risks associated with it.
